BLACKJACK IN PARIS
Blackjack first appeared in the late 18th century under the name "21". This game was originally inspired by two card games: "chemin de fer" and "ferme française". At the time, it was played in Parisian gaming establishments.
It was then introduced in the United States without much success. To try to attract players, the casino owners invented bonuses. Players with an ace of spades and a black jack won a bonus that offered a 10-to-1 payout.
The name of the game comes from the "Black Jack" of this bonus. The game is still called Black Jack, although the bonus has been modified.
